Welcome to the Andrew Darwin Fine Wines website. This site is new, still under construction, and pretty rough at the edges - but it works. Except the order form, which doesn't yet. Please use the old steam telephone or your fax machine for the time being.

This site is intended mainly for wine drinkers in sunny Herefordshire and surrounding counties. Whether you live round here or are holidaying - or just weekending - in the Welsh Border country, wines can be delivered to your door.

Who is/are Andrew Darwin Fine Wines, anyway? Answer: an independent wine-merchant who has been serving the discerning wine-drinkers of Herefordshire and surrounding counties for many years.

You will not easily find this range of interesting and high-quality wines elsewhere. Everything on this list has been personally selected by me on merit. I buy and sell wines which I enjoy myself - and luckily my taste generally seems to correspond pretty closely to that of most of my customers. Which is probably why I'm still in business after all this time!

P.S. Nearly forgot to say that the wines in the 'Wines by region' section are colour-coded, albeit in pretty peculiar colours. (The best I could find!) Names highlighted in olive-green are white wines, reds are - amazingly - reds, and the rather strange pale magenta colour denotes rosés.

P.P.S. I also forgot to say: there is another string to the bow. If you happen to be heading for west Herefordshire and need somewhere decent to stay, check out Church House in Kington...

• I offer wines which people seem to enjoy drinking, and price them modestly.
• Most of the wines come from small or obscure vineyards whose offerings are not normally found in supermarkets or chain stores. (In some cases I am the only distributor in the UK.)
